I find that a lot of ghost stories have heavy emotion associated with them.
Whether the spirit itself appeared distraught, or if the person who saw the spirit felt an overwhelming sense of emotion at the time, emotion seems to always be present in these sorts of stories. I sometimes wonder if the only things people see of the “spirit world” are energy imprints of highly emotional events or something, things that had a big enough impact on the energy of a place to not fully erode away. I don’t know.
